Balancing Wealth and Wellbeing | Tips for Entrepreneurs

Entrepreneurs – Make Money! Lose Health?

I am an entrepreneur and proud of it. Entrepreneurs are pioneers and the driving force behind innovation in this country and on planet earth! Entrepreneurs took us from the horse and buggy into the industrial revolution and from the typewriter to the iPhone. We are innovators of unique ideas. We solve common problems to complex problems. We never stop creating. We never stop solving. We never stop doing. We think outside the box. We are special people.

We also fail to give ourselves credit for the work we do every day. We don’t celebrate our special qualities enough. The job we do is hard and often times we fly without a net. Entrepreneurs have one of the hardest jobs in the world, and when something goes wrong, we can’t blame management for an easy out. High risk and high rewards, baby! It’s a lot of responsibility but we love it.

Recently, I read an article on Inc about the psychological price of entrepreneurship. It talked openly about the personal price we pay surrounding our personal health in order to succeed. The biggest aspect is that entrepreneurs frequently neglect their health. We are busy people. We forget to eat or we eat too much. We make no time for basic exercise and the majority of time we don’t get enough sleep.

But entrepreneurs should abuse their bodies less. We have infinite amounts of willpower, discipline and drive. We are dedicated and committed on a level others only dream of. No more excuses! The world needs us healthy, alive and breathing. Ok, I think I’m inspired myself. I’m heading to the gym! Hopefully, there is a parking spot close to the front door…
